CME-TV's Privacy Policy

CME-TV recognizes the importance of the privacy of personal information of the users of its Web site, and is committed to protecting your privacy and the confidentiality of any personal information you share with us. To demonstrate our commitment to your privacy, we have outlined the privacy policies of the CME-TV Web site, regarding what information we may collect about you, how we use that information, who has access to your information, how you can correct any inaccuracies in the information, and how we protect against unauthorized access or use of your information.

What Information We Collect

CME-TV collects information from and about its users in three ways - directly from the user, from our Web server logs, and with cookies. CME-TV server's process and store information in the form of "log files" which are used for analysis, research, auditing, and other purposes

Information We Collect from Unregistered Visitors

When you access CME-TV's home page and browse its Web site as an unregistered user, we do not collect personally identifiable information about you. To assist us during your visit to our Web site, we do track information provided to us by your browser, the type of browser you use, the time and date of access, and other information that does not personally identify you.

Information We Collect When You Register

When you register for services on our Web site, you are asked to provide us with personally identifiable information, such as name, address, professional title, phone number(s), e-mail address, sub-specialty, practice type, and other information not available to the public. Information collected when you register, will not be sold, transmitted or otherwise released, except as necessary to complete the processing of your registration, your access to our educational programs, and our assessment of ways to better serve you through educational offerings and other services.

In addition, we gather information about you that is automatically collected by our Web server, such as your IP address and domain name. CME-TV will use this information to track your usage across our Web site, to improve our site and make it more useful and interesting to you.

We use cookies for navigation through the Web site. Your browser allows us to place some information on your computer's hard drive that identifies the computer you are using. You may set your browser to accept cookies, reject cookies, or to notify you each time a cookie is sent to you. If your browser is set to reject cookies, when you return to the Web site, some Web site functionality may be lost. The Help menu of your browser will tell you how to change your cookie preferences.

Although cookies do not normally contain personally identifying information, if you are a registered user we may associate your registration information with cookies our Web site places on your computer's hard drive. Some of our co-sponsors and business partners will use cookies from our Web site.We ask them not to use cookie information to track our user's activities once they leave our site. CME - TV Subscribers

We give access to individual personally identifiable information about our users only to those subscribers who subscribe to our services on our users' behalf as their employers

Other Companies

This privacy policy applies only to CME-TV's Web site. We are not responsible for how other Web sites treat your privacy once you leave CME-TV's Web site. For example, when you access the links to our business partners, or one of our co-sponsor's web sites, you actually leave CME-TV's Web site. When you access one of these external web sites, different rules and privacy policies may apply. You should read the privacy policy at each Web site that you visit after you leave our site. We do not control the collection or use of information you provide while browsing external Web sites, but we do require that those business partners and co-sponsors clearly state their policies so you can decide whether to give them any information.

Companies and Employees of CME-TV.

We may contract with other companies and individuals to help us provide services. For example, we may host our Web-site on another company's computers, hire technical consultants to maintain our Web-based health tools, or work with companies to remove repetitive information from customer lists, analyze data, provide marketing assistance, and provide customer service. In order to perform their jobs, these other companies may have limited access to some of the personal information we maintain about our users. Where such access is necessary, information is provided to third parties under confidentiality agreements. How we use the information we collect?

CME-TV uses the information you provide about yourself when registering for courses to complete that registration and provide your CME certifications. CME-TV creates aggregate data about visitors to our Web site for product development and improvement activities

CME-TV may be obligated to pass along the names and physician identification numbers and contact information of users who view CME programming and who are issued CME Credits to employer subscribers, and to some state accreditation agencies for their use. However, CME-TV does not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to others.

We also use aggregate data for market analysis to conduct research, to improve content and services, and related purposes. We may use such data to track and report our audience size and traffic, target our advertising or marketing depending on information we collect about our Web site users. We may also personalize our Web site based on your interests. For example, we may modify our educational programming based on information you have shared with us, or information we have gained by observing your use of the Web site.

CME-TV may provide summary statistics about our customers' interests and preferences, products sold, and related site information to a reputable third party. These statistics do not include personally identifiable information; they are used only to enhance the design of our Web Site and customize new product offerings to our customers.

CME-TV does not use or share personally identifiable information provided to use online in ways unrelated to the ones described in this policy.

How data is secured?

We have implemented technology and security policies, and safeguards to protect the personal information about you we store in our systems from unauthorized access, improper use, or loss. Our system is configured with data encryption, or scrambling, technologies and industry standard firewalls... We also use Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology to ensure safe transmission of your personal information...

We also protect your personal information by requiring that all our employees and others who have access to or are associated with the processing of data on our behalf are aware of our security practices and take reasonable precautions to protect the confidentiality of your personal information.

CME-TV uses security methods to determine the identity of its registered users so that appropriate rights and restrictions can be enforced for that user. We use both passwords and usernames to authenticate users. Users are responsible for maintaining their own passwords.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

CME-TV reserves the right to modify or amend its privacy practices at any time. We will notify you about significant changes in the way we treat personal information by placing a prominent notice on our site.
